BMS has appointed former Guy Carpenter managing director for North American casualty Gregg Holtmeier as chief strategy officer for its US reinsurance operation.
The move comes after a series of senior hires for the broker, which recently secured investment from British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) and Preservation Capital Partners (PCP).
Holtmeier is the latest in a string of senior ex-JLT Re brokers to depart after JLT’s acquisition by Marsh & McLennan Companies.
The new hire will be based in San Francisco and report to US reinsurance CEO Steve Korducki.
Holtmeier’s 20-year career has included stints at JLT and Aon Benfield.
In May, BMS hired JLT Re’s former deputy CEO of US reinsurance Pete Chandler as president of its US reinsurance operations, and former JLT Re CFO Nick Moss as CFO.
Korducki said: “With the long-term investment from BCI and PCP, we are well-placed to continue as the leading independent broker with global reach in the market and to attract the very finest talent.
“Entrepreneurial, experienced individuals like Gregg will contribute to our strategic expansion in North America and I am excited to welcome him to BMS.”
