Southern Fidelity faced a walkout from its reinsurers in part due to the HSCM-backed insurer’s treatment of claims from two 2021 hurricanes, Ida and Nicholas, sources told this publication.

The two storms struck within weeks of each other last year – Ida hit Louisiana on 29 August and Nicholas hit Texas on 15 September before weakening to a depression as it crossed into Louisiana.
