UK to unveil task force compelling firms to transition to net zero by 2050

The UK government is to launch a task force today to write rules compelling financial firms and listed companies to publish plans from next year for transitioning to a net-zero economy by 2050, according to Reuters.

In a statement seen by Reuters, the Finance Ministry said the task force would develop "rigorous and robust" measures for tackling greenwashing and support companies to help them establish "investable and accountable" transition plans.
